Ferret is a mammal belonging to the same genus as the weasel Mustela. It is a small furry creature with a cone-shaped nose, long tail and long pear-shaped body with short legs and long claws. They are similar to wolverines, minks, and ermines. They were bred more than 2500 years ago in Europe. They are widely domesticated pets.
These domesticated ferrets can be in a variety of fur colors, which may be dark white, sable, black sable, silver, albino, cinnamon, and chocolate. Black-footed ferrets aren’t nearly as colorful. They are a pale color with white foreheads, muzzles and throats and black feet.
They are almost as the size of the zucchini. They weigh around 1 to 5.5 lbs( 0.5 to 2.5 kg) and have a head and body length of 8 to 18 inches (20.5 to 46 cm). Their tail is closer to half of their body length and range from 2.8 to 7.5 in 7 to 19 cm.

They fulfill their dietary needs from amphibians, birds, birds eggs, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, and carrion. Black-footed ferrets consume 50 to 70 grams of meat per day.
While domesticated ferret usually eats factory made chow. A healthy diet for ferrets must contain 36 percent of protein and around 20 percent fast and is low in carbohydrates.
